Names in the blogoshpere range in wit and style. Gwyneth Paltrow has her blog GOOP. One of Heather's favorites is APARTMENT THERAPY. A dear friend who manages three blogs (!) has I SHAKE MY FIST AT YOU and LONG-WINDED AND PROUD. I wanted LIFE OF JASON. Taken. THE ORIGINAL STYLINGS OF BLOGMASTER JAY. Taken. ONCE AGAIN, BLOGMASTER FLEX. Taken. FLEXMASTER BLOG. Too vein. Probably taken, though.
Eventually (obviously), I figured it out. And I dig the surprise I got when LIFE ACCORDING TO JASON won.
You see, the name is the first hurtle. The second one is the web address, equally frustrating. I purchased several domains, one of them being www.lifeaccordingtojason.com. Glad it was available. But who wants to type that out? Who would remember it? Too long. I wanted easy. So I shortened Life According to Jason to LAJ. But when I tried to get the URL www.laj.com, it was taken. Surprise! So I appended LAJ to LAJBLOG. The site was free and clear. Beyond this, I realized, hey, I live in Los Angeles (LA). My family and friends call me Jay (J). Purely coincidence (or was it?), as an acronym and an abbreviation LAJ gave my blog extra mileage in the name category.
A decent start. I was then onto the post category, and that's a whole other beast...
